Change is good.  Just ask Fabolous.

When his “Real Talk” CD came out in 2004, it was his lowest-charting album to date, and Fabolous wasn’t happy with the way it was marketed by his record label.  But he was still under contract, so there wasn’t much he could do.

Then he got traded.  Yes, just like a baseball player.  And he found a new home at Def Jam Records.

“It’s like getting traded from an OK team to a team that you know will be a great team and a greater experience for you and the team,” he said in an interview with Crave Online.  “That’s how I feel, like it was a bigger jump for me.”

His first Def Jam CD is “From Nothin’ To Somethin’,” and it features an all-star cast of collaborators, including Rihanna, Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Young Jeezy, T-Pain, and Ne-Yo, who helps out on the current single, “Make Me Better.”

So what happened?  “From Nothin’ To Somethin’” became the highest-debuting album ever for Fabolous, and it’s already been certified gold.

See?  Change is good!
